John came baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for remission of sins. (Mark 1:4 KJ3)

But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? (Matthew 3:7 KJ3)

Luke 7:29-30 KJ3

(29) And all the people and the tax collectors hearing, they justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John. (30) But the Pharisees and the lawyers set aside God’s counsel as to themselves, not being baptized by him.

Matthew 21:25 KJ3

(25) The baptism of John, from where was it? From Heaven, or from men? And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, He will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?

Matthew 28:18-20 KJ3

(18) And coming up, Jesus spoke with them, saying, All authority in Heaven and on earth was given to Me. (19) Therefore having gone, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all things, as many things as I commanded you. (3) And he said to them, Then into what were you baptized? And the ones said, To the baptism of John. (4) And Paul said, John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe into the One coming after him, that is, into the Christ, Jesus. (5) And hearing, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. (6) And Paul laying hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in languages and prophesied.
